According to Wall Street Journal, Google is still working on it map program specifically for iOS, and soon it will be added in the App Store after when apple has already presented their in-house map app for iOS.
Google has already given their test version of its map app that will work in Apple’s iPhones and iPads to some people outside of the company, informed by someone who is related with discussed matter. Now a days Google are focusing to complete the app and working on the finishing touches to be adjusted so that it can be approved by Apple iTunes store, this person said, though it is unclear exactly when that will happen.
The latest version of Google maps which will be part of iOS will provide the features of turn-by-turn navigation which is already part of Android. This feature was not part of the version provided for iOS 5.
The report also suggested that
“Apple is continuing to work hard on improving its Maps app, with Eddy Cue taking a very hands-on approach with regular team meetings since he took charge of Maps and Siri late last month.”
Google’s Maps app for iOS is in the stage of alpha testing, but still few of the staff of Google are hopeful that it will be approved to be part of App Store.
